1:1 Drawing with rules

We can create art with rules, instructions, receipes and algorithms.

None of these things need to be digital - they are all a simple set of rules we might follow to create an outcome.

Analogue, physical, hand-made outputs might be one way of working, digital and coded outputs might be another

Analogue systems

Sol LeWitt was an artist who made instructions that are still easily available to follow - this might be a fantastic way to start creating something and test out an idea.

Try writing your own set of rules.

Generative Dice

The hashtag #generativedice on twitter is an interesting place to start. Artists such as Frederik Vanhoutte (@wblut), Duncan Geere (@duncangeere) and Mike Brondbjerg (@mikebrondbjerg) have made fantastic work using simple instructions, pens, pencils and paper.
